Zoey was found lost or abandoned at a park in Quincy. A good samaritan found her and brought her in for a check up. Unable to keep her TGKP offered to help! Gadsden County Animal Control has been advised of her location in hopes if someone is looking for her we can reunite them!

If not, we will continue treatment for her heartworm disease and find her the perfect forever home!

She is crate trained, great with people/kids. Seems to do well with other dogs, quite.

History of fractured femur - left his right pelvic limb shorter then the others (growth plate injury) - handicap but doesn't act any different then any other pet.

up to date on rabies, dhpp, bordetella

Sidewinder was confiscated from his previous owner after falling of a motorcycle and breaking his back right leg. He sat at animal control for 2 months while the courts worked out his custody.and as soon as he was property of the state/county he was relinquished to TGKP. 

We immediately has a consultation for the repair of the fracture, however because of the time and the location of the fracture he now has a short back right leg, that is frozen in place. 

We choose not to amputate as his previous owner seemed to think he sued the leg at times and is is non-painful.

He was returned to TGKP in April 2025 after his new owner was unable to care for him. This is NO FAULT of Sidewinders. However because of this transition back to shelter life has has lost confidence. 

He is Crate trained and a perfect gentlemen. Quite, good with people and other dogs - not sure about cats. 

He is looking for a new home or foster where he can enjoy being spoiled. This kid has been through so much.....

Rocky was acquired from a rural county shelter after being surrendered by his owner, who was unable to keep up with his ongoing medical expense.

 Newt is a very sweet 8-12 month old female bully/Am Staff mix. Approximately 35lbs. Up to date on shots, heartworm negative, likely not spayed (willing to sponsor). She was found living alone in a wooded area in NW Tallahassee, where she had been seen/heard for at least a week prior to rescue, but she is very friendly with people and other friendly dogs. However, she needs to be in a home without cats/small animals. She is making great progress with house training, walking on a leash, and basic manners. She likes to stay very close to her person as she has a bit of separation anxiety. This young lady is very food motivated and eager to please - with consistent training she could be someone’s perfect companion. She loves long walks, car rides, chewing on her Kong toy, any/all treats, and snuggling with her person.

Mysterious Merlin  (as he has lovingly been renamed) was acquired from a rural county shelter after being found as a stray. When found, he had a large growth in his inguinal area that was surgically removed on 1/10/25. 

Since then, the lesion is growing back....FAST. We have consulted with specialist at UGA and locally in multiple disciplines with no know treatment/cure

We are not giving up and will continue to work on uncovering this mystery. For this reason so he is not ready for adoption and is being fostered by Dr. Bowman. 

Please consider donating to his medical care if you can. He is currently receiving sclearotherapy at Capital Veterinary Specialist as a trial treatment for his condition.
