🐾💛 BELLA’S JOURNEY: A LITTLE GOOD KARMA GOES A LONG WAY! 💛🐾

Bella’s story began at Gadsden County Animal Control after an acute episode of IVDD left her with a bulging disc and unable to walk, leaving her quadriplegic. The team at Animal Control immediately reached out to The Good Karma Project, and there was no way we could say no to this sweet girl. 

Once Bella came into our care, our amazing Good Karma community jumped right in to help save the day! ✨🙌

With the support of our incredible donors and the expertise of local surgeon Dr. Fullerton, Bella received the lifesaving surgery she desperately needed. ❤️‍🩹🏥

Bella’s recovery has been slow, but it has been steady and progressive, and every little step forward feels like a victory. 🌟🐕‍🦺 She is working hard, and her determination continues to amaze us!

Bella won’t be available for adoption just yet. Our priority is making sure she can sustain a fairly normal daily routine and have the quality of life she deserves before we begin searching for her forever family. 🏡💗

But we have so much hope for this girl. We believe she will continue to improve, one day at a time, and that somewhere out there is the perfect person who will see Bella for exactly who she is: a resilient, loving girl who just wants to be someone’s best friend. 🐶❤️

Merlin, lovingly known as “Mysterious Merlin,” was once a lonely stray wandering the world alone. When he arrived at a rural county shelter, fate intervened—and from the very first moment we met him, we knew this gentle soul was something truly special.

But Merlin’s magic has been tested.

He arrived with a large and alarming mass in his inguinal area. On January 10, 2025, surgeons worked tirelessly to remove it, giving Merlin a chance at a fresh beginning. Sadly, the battle wasn’t over. The growth has returned—and it’s coming back fast.

After consulting leading veterinary specialists, including experts at UGA, Merlin received a devastating diagnosis: Lymphatic Vascular Malformation, a rare congenital disorder with no known cure and no standard treatment.

Still, Merlin hasn’t given up—and neither have we.

Under the devoted care of Dr. Bowman, his foster guardian and champion, has completed 8 trial sessions of sclerotherapy at Capital Veterinary Specialists. This treatment is a hopeful step forward—an experimental path that may slow the disease and give Merlin the comfort and quality of life he deserves.

💔 The truth is: Merlin’s care is ongoing, complex, and expensive. With may ups and downs over the past 1.5years.....and we are certain there are more to come.
